Turnaround

Turnaround in its purest sense is when stressed or distressed organisations have critical issues and there is a possibility of becoming insolvent. Time is usually against them with one or more creditors approaching a stage where their continued support is under review.

For most businesses this is a situation they have not faced before and therefore immediate help from a turnaround specialist is needed. Turnaround roles tend to fall into one of 4 categories:

  • Interim CEO (either replacement or shadow).
  • CRO (Chief Restructuring Officer).
  • Turnaround CFO.
  • Special Advisor to the Board.


There are some key attributes needed from any turnaround specialist which IAA understands:

Restructure

  • New shareholder / management.
  • Regulatory changes or financial requirements.

  • Consolidation.
  • Cost constraints.
